Chandler and Melissa Collver

Worship

CHANDLER is a songwriter, singer, guitarist and keyboardist, and has brought it all to the Music Team of Dream Church as a worship leader. Many of his songs have remained a part of the church’s worship experience. As a teen, he traveled with the Axis Youth Band of Rhema Bible Church, while also playing bass for one of Rhema’s worship teams. In addition to his musical involvement, Chandler is also a part of the Dream Kids ministry team. He has been in the automotive business for many years. Chandler and Melissa have been married since 2014, and are the parents of Emery, Cohen, and Annie.

MELISSA was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Having grown up in the home of Children’s Pastors, Melissa has had a love for people and a desire to reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ since she was a child. Melissa’s creativity has found expression through her beautiful artwork, skilled photography, and anointed singing. She sings with Dream Church’s Music Team, cleans the church, and serves as a teacher in the Dream Kids ministry.

FUN FACTS 😊 Melissa prefers homemade remedies and concoctions for home and family, enjoys time at the beach, and likes tie-dyed shirts, miniature volkswagen vans, and other things symbolic of the 1960s.

Noel and Sharon Collver

Founding Pastors / Dream Kids

Born into a pastor’s home in Neepawa, Manitoba, Pastor NOEL was launched into ministry by his family’s Godly influence. He graduated from Rhema Bible Training College/School of Pastors in 2010. One of Noel’s greatest investments into the kingdom of God was his launch and oversight of JC Pineapples, a youth activity center (2004-2008), where hundreds of teens came to know God. Noel is a servant-leader. Years of service as Senior Pastor, Youth Pastor, and so much else, led to his leading his family’s launch of Dream Church Canton in 2014. Responsibilities in preaching, media, music, and maintenance supervision continue. Noel has been married to Sharon since 1981. They have four married children and nine grandchildren.

FUN FACTS 😊 Noel has five patents registered in Washington DC in lighting design, is a skilled builder, and is known as “The Driving King” by his kids.

Pastor SHARON was born in Americus, Georgia, where God taught her how to play the piano at the age of nine. She has over 20 years of private school teaching experience in kindergarten and music, and she continues as a private piano instructor. Sharon serves Dream Church Canton as Dream Kids pastor, a keyboardist and vocalist on the Music Team, and overseer of all things interior at the church building.

FUN FACTS 😊 Sharon recorded a southern gospel album with her family in 1975, greatly esteems Music Theory, and spends her “down time” on sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and very old TV sitcoms.

What We Believe

We believe what the Bible says and allow it to govern all that we think, say, and do as individuals, leaders, and as a church.

God

We believe there is One God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is truly God and truly man.

Matthew 28:19

Scripture

We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God. It was written by men, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, is authoritative, and without error. We teach the whole counsel of God, which we believe to be the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:15, Hebrews 4:12, Acts 20:27

Humanity, the Fall, and Redemption

We believe every person matters to God. All people were created in the likeness and image of God to have relationship with Him but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. The Bible says “…all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” and “…There is none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:10; 3:23). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the works of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Rom. 5:14; 1 John 3:8).

Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the Law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Eph. 2:8–10).

Salvation

We believe that the sacrifice and death of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to anyone who places their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly.

Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9, Hebrews 9:12-15, John 10:10

Worship

Our hearts were created to be loved by God and in turn to love Him with all of our hearts. Worship is the way we live our lives and respond to who God is, what He has done, and His powerful love for us. One of the most consistent ways we worship is through singing and speaking words of reverence to Him.

Mark 12:29-31, Colossians 3:16, Psalm 29:2

Giving Back to God

We practice tithing for the support of Christ’s Body, the church, as God commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is Biblical.  We first see this Biblical example through the giving of the tenth from Abraham and also recognize that Jesus taught about money a great deal while on earth.

Genesis 14:20, Hebrews 7:2, Malachi 3:8-12, Matthew 6:21, Leviticus 27:30

Giving Back to God

Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today.

James 5:14,15; Mark 16:18; Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24

Church

We recognize Jesus Christ as the Head of Dream Church, not a person, group, or religious organization. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him, living for Him, and by making Him known to the world.

Colossians 1:18, Romans 12:1, Hebrews 10:25

Spirit-led Living

We believe the only way possible to live the Christian life is by God’s power within us. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. So, we seek to practice a daily dependence on God’s Spirit to enable us to do what is right and to obey God’s command to “be filled with the Spirit.”

Ephesians 5:18, John 15:5, Romans 8:29

Every Believer is a Minister

The Bible teaches that every follower of Christ is called to “full-time” Christian service, regardless of his/her vocation. This is called the “priesthood of believers” and means that we’re all called to be ministers. We believe that every person has talents and abilities to be discovered, developed, and deployed.

1 Peter 2:9

Telling Others About Jesus

Jesus asked every one of us to share the Good News and God’s love with the people in our lives! We believe that it is the responsibility of every Christian to tell others about Jesus and invite friends to church.  Every believer has been given the ministry of reconciliation.

1 Peter 3:15, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

Baptism by Immersion

We practice baptism by immersion under water – the way Jesus was baptized. Once you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we believe that water baptism is an important step as a proclamation of faith and is an outward expression of an inward change.

Colossians 2:12

Communion

We practice receiving Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.

Luke 22:19

Baptism in the Holy Ghost

The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.

Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38,39; Acts 19:1–7; Acts 2:1–4

Who We Are

We believe that when we give our lives to Jesus, we become new on the inside, effectively becoming in-Christed and righteous! (2 Corinthians 5:17-21). I became who I was meant to be—Christ is in me and I am in Him!

In Christ I Am:

Saved

A new creature

A son / daughter of God and a joint heir with Christ

Righteous and I’m good standing with God, my Father

I have God’s life and nature

I am healed, protected, and redeemed from the curse

I have been given the Holy Spirit

I am provided for, delivered, free, loved, eternally alive, and blessed

I have been made righteous, rich, and abundantly supplied

I am seated with Christ and have authority over the devil

I am powerful and strong

I have wisdom and God’s ability

I am sanctified and highly favored

I am more than a conqueror

I reign in life through Christ Jesus and I am always triumphant

I am anointed, confident, and forgiven

I have no fear or condemnation

I am purified, cleansed, and bold

The Lord is my helper

I am in the One who has overcome the world

This is the victory that overcomes the world

Even my faith, I let my spirit man dominate my natural man

I have forgotten the past, I rest my mind in the present, and I look toward my good future IN CHRIST

Shut up devil, it is finished!

I walk by faith and not by sight
